Not that you give a shit, but more children than ever are being given anti-psychotic drugs. Yep, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, more than 2.5 million children were prescribed anti-psychotic drugs. We are raising a generation of crazy people. Oh, but wait. That is where it gets interesting. Apparently, and I bullshit you not, powerful anti-psychotics, which are normally reserved for people with psychotic conditions (hence, the name) such as schizophrenia, are being prescribed for kids diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Just due south of a psychotic condition. Oh, and why are they being prescribed an anti-psychotic for such a disease? Because temper tantrums and outbursts sometimes accompany ADD. Holy shit. Not a temper tantrum or an outburst. I guess I am all ready for an IV drip of Zyprexa. Guess what else? Not that you give a shit, but they are not even sure whether the drugs work for ADD. So why the increase? Well, let’s take a look. The pills cost several dollars a pill, and the pharmaceutical companies have engaged in an aggressive marketing campaign. Welcome to your pharmaceutical inspired life.
